IKEA Print Ad – Indonesia; Adobe Photoshop
As an assignment for my Advertising class, we were tasked to create an ad for IKEA – a brand currently not available in Indonesia – for four prominent Indonesian magazines;
- Go Girl Magazine: A magazine aimed at teenaged girls
- Hai Magazine: A magazine aimed at teenaged boys
- High End Magazine: A magazine for modern, upper-class women
- Men’s Health: A magazine for modern, metrosexual men.
The four products featured in each ads are real IKEA products with real Swedish names. The Swedish names of the products are used in exchange of real Indonesian terms – HÅLLÖ for ‘halo’, KNAPPA for ‘kenapa’, etc – to form interesting wordplays in coherent and contextually-appropriate Indonesian sentences in each magazines.
Monggo Chilli Ice Cream – Billboard Ad: “Hot as Ice”; Adobe Photoshop
A mock-up of a billboard advertisement for Monggo Chocolate brand extension for an assignment.
Monggo Chocolate is a line of Chocolate from Indonesia with strong overtones of the traditions of Indonesia. One of the more unique variant Monggo offers is the ‘Red Chilli Chocolate Bar’. With that in mind, plus our concept of ‘Chocolate-Chilli Ice Cream’, the tagline “Hot as Ice" is the perfect phrase to describe the amalgam of zesty spice and icy goodness of the ice cream.
ABC Hot Sauce – Print Ad;Adobe Photoshop
This is an assignment for my Advertising class. We were tasked to make a simple advertisement for food products.
The caricatured depiction of a bottle of ABC Hot Sauce in place of a traditional campfire represents the heat of the sauce – and the sense of warmth and togetherness it brings.
Visit Singapore! Brochure; Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop, 2013
This is an assignment for my Typography III class; we are tasked to do a travel brochure to promote tourism to Singapore. The contents are provided by the lecturer.
I used the style of a vintage tourism postcard to invoke a sense of friendliness and familiarity. The colorful, yet muted, color palette juxtaposed with vibrant urban scenes throughout the brochure represent the sunny and modern atmosphere of Singapore

Circus of Freaks; Adobe Photoshop, 2013.
This is a final assignment for my Computer Graphics II class. The assignment is to compose an image with the theme “Scary Circus” using Photoshop. Almost every part of this image are taken from separate sources.
In this image, I created a ragtag group of freakshow travelling through a scorching desert with a lot of surreal elements with a subtle touch of looming terror.
Newsletter Page 1 Alternatives – First Draft; Adobe Illustrator, 2013
A first draft/alternate page one for a newsletter assignment for my DKV 4 class.
Kerning: Your Trusty Design Newsletter! Adobe Illustrator, 2013.
I designed this newsletter as an ode to the excitement and vibrance of 1950-1960s era newspaper/prints. The subtle Art Nouveau influences of the fonts and vintage styling of the layout highlights the stark contrast between the artistically playful vibe of yesteryear and the stoic industrialism style of today.
Cimory Drink to Eat – Repackaging; Adobe Illustrator for the labels, 2013.
This is an assignment for my DKV III class. We are assigned to do a repackaging for food products.
I chose this design for Cimory’s Drink to Eat to emphasize the cleanliness and healthiness of the drink. The all-white bottle and label represent the modern minimalistic image, with the pop of color to show the taste and ‘personality’ of each variants.
Loss. ; Adobe Illustrator + Adobe Photoshop, January 2013.
This is an assignment for my DKV 4 class; we are tasked to tell a story using pictures and pictures only.
My story is about the casualty of war; about how war can abruptly take your loved in the blink of an eye. Here we see a family saying their farewell to the father – until one day, war took the life of the father. The last panels shows the news being told to the wife and the blissful face of the daughter, waiting for her father to come back home – not knowing what truly lies ahead.
The juxtaposition of the bliss of the child’s face and the gruesome imagery of her dying father highlights the very reality of war – it can strike at any moment to anyone.
Spot the Difference; Adobe Photoshop, 2013.
This is my Computer Graphics II class assignment; we are tasked to:
- Take an image of a place
- Take an image of yourself
- Photoshop in 10 major elements seamlessly.
Poster Parody – Sucker Punch; Adobe Photoshop, 2013.
This is an assignment for my Computer Graphics II class. The assignment is to choose an effects-heavy film poster; and recreate them in Photoshop – without taking any elements from the original poster – with a comedic twist.
"Bakmi Kaget" Logo Design; Adobe Illustrator, 2013
This is a DKV 4 assignment to redesign a small businesses’ logo around the campus. I chose "Bakmi Kaget", a small bakmi and Chinese food restaurant, for its low price range and lack of proper logo.
For the redesigned logo, I play up the goofy name with whimsical fonts, playful typographical composition, and bold colors to attract even wider customers.
The Scarlet Avenger; Adobe Illustrator, 2011.
"The Scarlet Avenger" is the first Computer Graphics I class assignment and introductory project for Adobe Illustrator.
As my personal first project with Adobe Illustrator; I utilized only the basic tools of AI to create the most three-dimensional-looking robot.
